E's in t-ball!

I can't believe itm my little boy is growing up so fast that he can now play a boys sport. Last week E. had his first t-ball practice and it went great. He seems to love the playing and he's surprisingly very good for his age. Tomorrow is his first game and I plan to take pictures and let you know how it goes. I can't wait, I think everyone else is more excited about the game tomorrow than he is...we will see!

Mad is 2 months old

Took Mad in to get her 2 month shots today, she now weighs 9lbs 12oz and is 22 in long. She's still so small, much smaller than E was at her age. Speaking of EF he's just been eating up being a big brother he asks everyday to hold her, he's started ready books to her, and he is so ready for her to play with him. I think the most impressive part about his adjustment to having a sibling is the constant crying....that he completely ignores. So impressed!

First trip as a family of 4!

Well we let E go up to Lubbock 2 weeks before Memorial day weekend and he happily stayed there til we arrive on the Friday before Memorial Day. He didn't miss us all that much, but that's ok its good for him. Mad did ok on the trip up to Lubbock, it was pretty easy without E's carseat in the car. The trip back was so painful in every way possible. From hanging yoru arm a way it doesn't bend to calm her, to your ear drums hurting from her screams, to stopping the car every hr to nursing turning the 7 hr trip into a 9 hr trip...uggg! Sadly we have to do this again in a month, God help us! When we got home DH and I were so crazy we start looking into upgrading to a van a bigger car that I can actually sit next to Mad in without being crushed my E's carseat. Sadly that's not an option so we will deal for the time being.

Mad is 1 month old

The past month has been wonderful DH has been such an amazing help, from taking care of me due to my c-section, to starting our cloth diaper adventure on his own, to keeping a perfectly clean home. My husband has swept me off my feet. E seems to be adjusting to Mad pretty well, though right now he's not really interested in her it will change I know. DH on the other hand is wrapped around her tiny little finger. He's so inlove with his little princess, and I couldn't be happier. Madison has been wearing the harness for 3 weeks now, went in for an ultrasound on her hips and everything looks great, continue on the 23hr a day path for another 3 weeks.

The story of Mad's birth!

On April 14, 2010 our 3 yr wedding Anniversary...I went in to have my waterbroken. Let me back track a moment to explain why. I had an elective c-section with E, I just didn't know how much I'd regret ever volunteering to have a c-section. Dumb girl! Well I tried for a v-bac this time around. Talked it over with the doctor, I had so many upsets with having a c-section. The bonding time between mommy and baby didn't occur til E was an hour old, the pain I went through to recover, and much much more.

Went into the doctor the week before he said he didn't want me to go past the 14th of April due to the fact that there wasn't enough fluid for Mad to stay in past that day. So he wanted to schedule my c-section, I ask for the alternative. Last resort was breaking my water, since I can't be induced. I had my water broken at 7:30am on the 14th. I immediately started having contractions but they weren't real strong or regular. the contractions went on into the day when my water was broken I was 3 cm dialated, and the doctor said as long as Mad's hearts rate was good he'd let me decide when to quit and do a c-section. By mid day I was starting to have some major back labor that seemed to be every 10 min. Well that died out and by night time my mom and sis decided to head home since nothing was happening. When midnight hit I was starting to wear thin and I was in so much pain I just didn't know how much more I could take. At 3am I asked more IV pain meds I didn't want an epidural...I feared that would slow down what little labor I had going. After I got the meds I tried to sleep but the black labor contractions were every 2 minutes for about 30-45secs...I was miserable. I had had the nurse check my dilation when I got the painkiller and I was still the same. That was devistating considering the pain I was in. At 4:30am I called my mom crying that I couldn't do it anymore. She told me it was time for me to let go and have the c-section or I wouldn't even have energy to hold Mad after she was born. I told the nurse and they had me prepped. By 5:59am Mad had arrived. Weighing 8lbs 1oz...just like her brother, and measuring 20 and 1/2 inches long. Red hair long legs, long arms, long fingers, long toes, long torso. I think she's gonna be tall like daddy :)

She's born just 5 days before my birthday and a day after our Anniversary. On Apr. 20my birthdya we took her in to see a orthopedic doctor...Mad has hip dysplasia. Its basically caused by my hormones in the last trimester being released to her. This caused her hips to be able to dislocate easily. So after seeing the doctor Mad will be in a hip harness for 6 weeks at 23hrs a day. After that it will go down to 6 weeks night time only.

Less than a month til there will be 4!

Tomorrow I'll be 35 weeks which means....only 5 more weeks til Mad is due. Had a baby shower last weekend for my friends to come to and it turned out great, Mom and Em hosted it and did an awesome job. I had a friend donate the cake which was amazing as well. It was a great day we have jsut about everything we need for Mad. With the exception of a few things but tomorrow I'm going to a cosignment sale in Round Rock, and they have great deals on everything so I think if I can find what we need there we'll be set. Monday morning I have my 35 week checkup find out where Mad is at and if they have any idea on her size right now. We had a cloth diaper raffle fund at the shower, it didn't have a good turn out but it was worth a try. All we have left to do is order all the stuff that's needed for cloth diapers. We're in the home stretch and getting very excited about Mad's arrival. E. and I created a countdown til she's born and it definitely help time pass faster. Tomorrow is 35 more days!

Oh my April is coming fast!

We've been very busy, the holidays just flew by. We enjoyed every minute though, E. was so into Christmas this year is was ten times more fun this year than before. We got a special gift this year for Christmas, Elf on a shelf, E. named his elf "Buddy" and his little elf even followed us to Lubbock just before Christmas. E. was very into Christmas lights this year and he just couldn't get enough of driving around and looking at lights. Now that the holidays are over E. says he's ready for Halloween....lol. We told him he's going to have to wait a long time for that. In December E. recieved a very exciting present from one of my friends, a twin bed, he's never enjoyed sleeping at night more than he does now. Of course it helps that we found a home for one of our 2 dogs and now the one we kept "Blue" sleeps on E.'s bed every night and "keeps him safe" E.'s words. 2010 is going to bring so much fun for us as a family, we're begin to get things ready for Mad's arrival. I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and April is approaching faster than I can believe. We luckily saved up some Christmas money and got paint and fabric for Mad's room. Today we finished painting the beautiful pastel pink all over. To follow my mom will be painting a Cherry Blossom Tree that will come up and over her crib. I was surprised to find out how much cheaper it is to make your own bedding than buy it so I'm really excited to see how the bedding and curtains for Mad's room turn out. After finishing painting today I put everything back in the room and E. noticed for the first time his old baby swing. He used it at my parents house when he used to stay with them, he's absolutely in love with this swing. He sat in front of it for at least 30 minutes this evening and just watched it because he's so ready for Mad to be here. We'll see what the next few month have to offer before Mad's arrival....
